Bree gave us a great birthday gift this year -- $25 to the Snakebite, her favorite Idaho Falls restaurant along with free babysitting on the night we decided to go.
She also lent us her car since our stupid car doesn't have a heater. Long, long story. No, it won't be a cheap fix. Yes, we've taken it in to more than one mechanic (four). No, we aren't going to spend more than half of what the stupid car is worth to fix it considering that we'll need a bigger car in four months anyway. Yes, please total our car the next time you see us on the freeway.
Anyway, isn't that just the best gift?
We thought it was pretty wonderful, and then we actually got to the restaurant and realized it was super wonderful. The food was amazing, it reminded me of an Idahoan version of Ludvig's Bistro in Sitka.
I got the portabello mushroom sandwich (with sauteed onions and bell peppers, swiss cheese, crisp tomato, basil and a yummy sauce). The sandwich was awesome, but the house salad that came with it was even better - spinach, some bleu cheese and fresh cranberries with viniagrette. Oh man. Steven got a hamburger with onion rings, barbecue sauce and tons of cheese with fries as his side. And he licked his fingers afterwards, which means he really loved it.
The food was great, but the company was better. We were really needing a night out, just the two of us and it was so romantic and fun to just be together.
